Section 2: Connect Keyboard
In this section, we will configure Plover to detect and connect to your keyboard. Follow these steps to ensure your keyboard is properly recognized by Plover.
Step 1: Connect Your Keyboard to Your Computer
Before we begin, make sure your keyboard is connected to a USB port on your computer.
Step 2: Open Plover Configuration Settings
- Open the Plover Application: Launch Plover by clicking on its icon in the Start menu or by typing "Plover" into the search bar and selecting the app from the search results.
- Access Configuration Settings: In the Plover app, click on the Configure button.
Step 3: Navigate to the Machine Tab
- Open the Configuration Window: A new popup window titled "Plover: Configuration" will appear.
- Select the Machine Tab: Click on the Machine tab to view the settings related to your keyboard.
Step 4: Configure the Machine Settings
In this step, we will configure the settings to ensure Plover detects your keyboard correctly.
- 4.1 Set Machine Type: Make sure the Machine option is set to Gemini PR. (Refer to the image with red arrow labeled "1.")
- 4.2 Scan for Ports: Click the Scan button to detect available ports. (Refer to the image with red arrow labeled "2.")
- 4.3 Select the Correct Port: From the dropdown menu, select the port that your keyboard is connected to (e.g., COM4). (Refer to the image with red arrow labeled "3.")
- 4.4 Apply and Confirm Settings: Click Apply to save the settings and then OK to close the configuration window. (Refer to the image with red arrow labeled "4.")
Step 5: Enable Plover Output and Verify Connection
- 5.1 Enable Output: In the Plover main menu, make sure the Output option is set to Enabled. (Refer to the image with red arrow labeled "1.")
- 5.2 Refresh Connection: If your keyboard shows as "Disconnected," click the Refresh button to attempt reconnecting. (Refer to the image with red arrow labeled "2.")
- If it still shows "Disconnected," you may need to select a different port in the Port setting under Configuration > Machine > Port.
